Therapy Services

We are conducting therapy sessions exclusively by videoconference and telephone using secure platforms. Please note that our psychologists are not in-network with any insurers.

50-minute psychotherapy session

The standard session length we offer is 50 minutes. We will decide whether to select a regular weekly time or schedule week-to-week to ensure convenience and flexibility. When working with children or teenagers, we schedule sessions with parents on an as-needed or regular basis.

90-minute psychotherapy session

As therapy is not one-size-fits-all, some clients benefit from occasional longer sessions, particularly when something distressing or difficult has just happened. It can be difficult to open up in therapy and it takes some people longer to get comfortable and settle into each session, which means that the conversation can significantly deepen just as “time’s up.” Meeting for 90 minutes at a time enables us to cover more ground and can accelerate therapeutic progress.

Between-session calls

Since life does not operate on a predictable weekly schedule, stressors may come up between our scheduled sessions. We provide the option of scheduling calls to discuss such stressors, provide skills coaching, and check in to maintain accountability and progress on goals. These calls may vary in length.

How payment works

Our psychologists are not in-network providers for any insurance plans. However, you may still be able to receive reimbursement if your plan offers out-of-network coverage for mental health treatment. How it works is that you would submit payment to the practice at the time of service, and each month you will receive a detailed bill including all of the necessary information you need to submit to your insurer. If you would like to pursue this route, we strongly encourage you to first contact your insurance company to confirm details about your plan by asking several questions, suggested below:

What to ask your insurance company

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits for mental health treatment?

  • What is my deductible? Has it been met?

  • How many psychotherapy sessions per year does my insurance cover?

  • How much money will my insurance reimburse me per psychotherapy telehealth session (billing code 90834)?

  • Is approval required from my primary care practitioner?
